Skandi comes from the lucky encounter between Italcomma and the young Finnish designer Topi Mäkinen, known in 2009 at the Salone Satellite during the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan. The chair synthesizing functionality and aesthetics, interprets and expresses the simplicity of form and choice of materials, characteristics of Scandinavian design. The project, essential and clean is conceived to be highly industrizlized and to respect the environment, Skandi can be used in homes, bars, restaurants, all spaces for the community and eventually dismalted and stored when not in use. It can be easily transported, as components of the kit for the realization of the chair are contained in a very compact package.

Skandi is designed and manufactured in an optics of sustainability , to minimize environmental impact throughout its life cycle, from production to disposal of the various components. The plywood with which the chair is made is low formaldehyde emission and even the box, made of recycled cardboard, is carefully designed for an easy disposal or reutilization. Designed to be assembled and disassembled whenever you want without damaging effeciency and reliability of the joints, Skandi is easy to store and transport; it takes very small volumes, contributing to improve logistics management.

Skandi is a modular chair, designed to be quickly and easily assembled and disassembled by the user, without using tools. The various components are made to fit a piece on the other to obtain a stable and elegant look, expressing the constructive and functional logic of the product. The chair comprises a seat, a back, two sides with front and rear legs, a stud, all made of birch plywood and a metal element of connection.
